Community Quilt Auction Day!!

Some of these items were donated.  Some were bought by me.

All money from the sale will go into the charity quilt fund for use in the charity quilt project.

With the charity quilt project, I have a lot of expenses.

I started doing the postage auctions as a way to support the charity quilting that happens here through the blog.  Needs have expanded so that now finishers are sometimes in need of batting or backing fabrics.  I have used some of the auction money to buy batting for finishers as well.

A huge thanks to everyone for being so good and bidding in the past.  It was so sweet of you to help out this good cause.

PLEASE READ THE GUIDELINES BEFORE YOU BID.

Here are the guidelines:
Bids must be entered in the comment section.  PLEASE  WRITE THE NAME OF THE ITEM, THE ITEM NUMBER, AND THEN THE AMOUNT YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY.  If you are the winner of the bid, the postage amount will be added to your ending bid price.  You can pay via Paypal.  I will also accept a personal check but the check will have to clear before merchandise is sent.  Bidding will close at 5 pm Central Time on Monday.  I will send a confirmation email to the winning bidder later in the day on Monday or on Tuesday. Then hopefully bids can be paid and I can package the items up and get them in the mail ASAP.  If you do bid, please watch your email so we can take care of the correspondence efficiently.  I make a guess on postage.  If I’m off it’s not a big deal.  U.S. postage calculations.  If you are international, you are welcome to bid but you will pay actual postage.

Here is a closer look.

Item #7:   Sleep Baby Quilt Kit + $7 postage

All of the fabrics are here for this quilt kit along with the pattern.  It would make a super cute baby quilt.  I love the farm animals!!   I looked through it all but can’t find an exact size.  If you look at the photo below, you can see the yardage that is included.  The small paper tells the exact amounts incase you didn’t like this pattern and simply wanted to buy it for the fabrics only.

Item #8:  Vintage Double Dutch Blocks + $7 postage

This is a lot of 28 Double Dutch blocks.  They are hand sewn.  There are 28 10 1/2″ blocks.  I LOVE the colors on these.

Item #9:   Vintage 8 1/2″ blocks + $7 postage

These blocks are super funky.  The colors are phscodelic.  They are hand sewn.  There are a total of 44 blocks that are 8 1/2″.  There is a star in the middle of them…it’s just kind of hard to make that out.  FUN!

Item #10:  Grandma’s Garden + $7 postage

These are bigger hexies…about 3 1/2″ across…so cute with the yellow centers.  There is what you sewn together and 11 extra blocks.  It is hand sewn and measures 55″ x 62″.

Item #11:   Fan Quilt + $7 postage

Of everything on the sale…I love this most.  It is a fan quilt set in a very unique setting.  For a vintage top, it is in very good shape.  I would love to recreate this one!  It is handstitches and is 72″ x 86″.

Here is a close up picture.

Item #12:   + $7 postage

This is a vintage embroidered ABC quilt.  Someone did add tabs for a hanger on top but they can easily be removed.  The piece is 33″ x 54″.

There is discoloring at the bottom.  See the picture below.  I did not try to remove the spot.

It’s so cute!

Item #13:   Homegrown Happy Embroidery Quilt  + $7 postage

This is a quilt kit.  Pattern and fabric are included.

The pattern requires the embroidery of the blocks you see with jars of flowers.
Here is a closer picture of some of the jars.  It finishes at 57″ x 78″.
The colors are great on this.

Item #14:   Vintage blocks + $5 postage

There are hand sewn vintage blocks.  I really like these.  I am tempted to remake them.  There are 20 blocks in the bunch and they finish at 9 1/2″.

Item #15:  Vintage Flower Quilt Top + $7 postage

This top is really neat but a little wonky notice the seams don’t match up exactly.  The back ground fabric is thin and would likely need something else behind it if you were to finish the quilt top.

I took a close up pictures so you can see the black stitching around the flowers.  In person it looks good with the quilt.  It is 68″ x 84″.

Item #16:   Quilter’s Dozen Plus Monthly Kit + $10 postage

This is an entire kit of fabric to make these monthly quilts.  Each month has a prepackaged kit that can be used to make the mini quilts you see.

OR…you can make the center quilt in the picture below and swap out the months by snapping them in place.

Item #21:  Lot of Prairie Schooler Cross Stitch Charts  + $6 postage

Blog reader Cherie contacted me and said she had these Prairie Schooler Santa Cross Stitch charts that she’d like to donate.  She said that she will hold them and ship them to you once the winning bidder is decided.

The years are 1984, 1986-1992, 1996-1998, and 2001.

These charts are super popular with cross stitchers.  Many stitch them and have a tree designated only to these Santa ornaments.

I have LOTS more that needs to be put on an auction but seriously, 20 is about that max that can be managed in a single auction.  PLEASE watch the comments and I will try to periodically put an update there listing all of the items and the current price they are going for to help you find the current bid more easily.  I have a blog reader that has often helped with that as well.

Again, here are the guidelines:
