By Joslyn Stevenson
Its probably 5:30 a.m.
I lie there, on the right side of my bed
Both eyes open
Ive been up for a while
But she comes in anyway.
Its time to get up.
I know, I say.
I sit up on my bed, reach to the ground and grab my glasses.
As I walk across the motel-sized room I share with my sister, I look at her.
She looks dead asleep, in the most uncomfortable comfortable way.
I open the closet door and look at the clothes I have
Wishing I could wear a pair of shorts as I take my jeans off the hanger.
I get my shirt and jeans and take them to the restroom.
I pee, wash my hands, get dressed and walk out.
Im told to wake up my sister even though I know to do so already.
I wake her up, she whines and does her thing.
I take my phone off the charger.
